n 1995, an Illinois base company by the name of American Diagnostic Medicine, Inc. (ADM) was scouting the Thumb area of Michigan for a possible site to build a new, state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) clinic.

ADM is a pioneering company in the field of advanced MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and PET. ADM's imaging services are located across the country and abroad, in a wide range of healthcare facilities, including small and large hospitals, physician practices, clinics and specialized imaging centers.

It was found that six area hospitals in Michigan's thumb area had a common goal - to bring the best care to their patients-locally. The six hospitals (Huron Medical Center
Scheurer Hospital,Hills and Dales General Hospital,Caro Community Hospital, McKenzie Memorial Hospital, Marlette Regional Hospital,), along with ADM, state politicians and public health officials united to research the possibilities.

The Thumb MRI Center opened in December of 1997. In October of 2000, Thumb MRI Center became the first site in the state of Michigan to have an open MRI.

In January 2005 we raised our standard of quality to a new level with the installation of our new Vantage XGV 1.5 Tesla Ultra-Short bore scanner from Toshiba.

In January 2011, we once again raised our standard of quality to an even higher level with the installation of the LARGEST OPEN MRI available on the market, the Toshiba Titan!! The Titan is a 1.5 Tesla Ultra-Short bore (only 4.5 feet in length) scanner with a 71 cm opening which holds up to of 500lbs!! Our new Open MRI reflects our commitment to patient-focused care. It's spacious opening, noise reduction technology and pleasant design work perfectly together to make your experience more comfortable.
